THE GOLDEN BIRTHDAY BOOK™
For over half a century the Bramsch family has celebrated each member's unique, once in a lifetime Golden BirthdayTM. It began with our own five children, but the idea soon spread to our extended family and the families of all our friends.

Over the years, scores of people have e-mailed me for Golden BirthdayTM gift ideas and party theme plans after reading the Golden BirthdayTM article posted on my web site. So I wrote the book! Available at http://www.goldenbirthdaybook.com/

Hi dear Parent,

Here is your December issue of the EP eJournal. The last one for 2007!

Wow, has this year flown by. Actually, it’s been proven by science that the 24-hour day we had as children, is now only 16 hours long. The planet is spinning faster, you see. I guess we’ve said enough times, “There’s not enough hours in the day!” and the Universe has delivered. :)

There are all sorts of blessed holy days/ holidays this month and I send greetings and glad tidings to you for whichever one you celebrate.

Last month passed in a flurry in my family. Thanksgiving with some of my children. The next day to an out-of-town family wedding that was bliss-filled. Then on the 30th my second granddaughter was wed to her beloved in a unique intimate ceremony with family and close friends. All in all, it was a lovely month. Now I look forward to a lively December!

I remember well what it took to create a happy holiday for my children. Don’t forget your traditions. Ours live on now in my grandchildren!

Make some choices for your own sanity. You do NOT have to do it all. You do NOT have to buy it all. Choose what will most make the family happy. And glad. And then release all the rest.

I wish you well, my dear friend. Remember that I value you, right here, right now, in all you do for your family.

Love, Joan

Here’s an original holiday poem from an EP Parent – Enjoy!

“Holiday Wishes” © 2007
Joyce A. Kovelman, Ph.D., Ph.D.

Merry Holiday and Good Season’s Cheer
Wishing everyone a fabulous New Year.

A year full of mirth and happiness galore
Throughout 2008, may your energies soar

Chanukah, Christmas, Kawaaza and Jolly St. Nick
What holiday celebration will you pick?

Children’s laughter, welcoming smiles,
Visitors arriving across the miles

Eggnog, sugar plums and mistletoe,
Remembering a message of long, long ago

Look around with awe and gratitude,
Giving thanks for the gift of Life.

With cherishing and nurturing attitude,
We agree to end all war and strife

Radiant Love is yours from Above,
Along with graceful Turtle Doves,

Miracles astound us during these holiday weeks
Love and Compassion is what all humanity seeks

Speak gently, live fully, and love generously,
As tonight a new ethic and world we birth,
With peace dwelling again in our hearts and on Earth,

Joyously, we send family and friends so dear,
Our Holiday wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Here follows all sorts of quotes, and links to educate, ponder and enjoy at your leisure, dear parent:

From "Out On A Limb!" by Shirley McClain

In all the Cosmos, there is nothing more valued than a Single Soul. And whatever a Single Soul accomplishes lifetime after lifetime, uplifts the rest of humanity forever. That is how important each one of us is!

AN EP LETTER:
Joan, a new member, asked about making hats to warm a child’s ears. We did that for three years a long time ago. Here is my reply to her request:
Hi dear Joan... we are Twin Names!! :)
You may have noticed that the EP newsletter you read is the Premier issue from 1998. But even tho' this program has elapsed, I encourage you to continue with your Angel Work. Others who took part in this took different paths in their gifts.
1. some went downtown and gave them away to homeless people and children.
2. some gave them to churches who ministered to the homeless.
3. some gave them thru business organizations to which they belonged.
It doesn't matter how you give them, but it's important to INSIST that your gifts not be sold but are only given, if you turn them over to an organization.
It's no accident that you've written to me about caps. I shall write about it again. It's been too long and giving is so GOoD for the soul. Thank you.
I welcome you to Empowered Parent. If you go back to the yahoo page and click on the last entry, you'll find the link to the new Empowered Parent eJournal blog.
Tell me about you and your family, please.
Love, Joan
NOTE: and so I remind you, EP Parent and Grandparent… if you feel the urge to make caps or mufflers or mittens for homeless children in the cold, please do it.

Something to Re-member:

"Cowardice asks the question: is it safe?
Expediency asks the question: is it politic?
Vanity asks the question: is it popular?
But conscience asks the question: is it right?

And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular- but one must take it simply because it is right."
